Finally! I’ve only been talking about and drooling over window boxes for a couple of years now, but thanks to Lowes I now have window boxes! Woo. to the. Hoo. I found these 36” boxes (made of plastic!), and I knew they had to be mine.I made a call to my local handy man (in other words, “Hey, come outside and hang these for me!”). It was easy peasy as soon as we stopped fighting about whether or not I was moving the bracket when he was about to drill.
Installations don’t go very smoothly for us, so I’m happy to report that these were not a struggle. Finally!
Of course, the fun part was filling them up. I bought a few already-planted pots and just transplanted them into the boxes. Since it was 102 degrees (no joke) when I was taking these pictures, they’re a little wilty. No concern. They’ll come back!
I am SO excited to include them in my seasonal decor outside. Gourds, pumpkins, greenery, ornaments—the list is endless. How fun, right?
While I think they look pretty amazing for just being planted, I wouldn’t mind if they looked like this in a couple of days. Yeah, we’ll see.
Beautiful plantings. I love the color variety.
Love the window boxes and would love to do that at my house!
I love those window boxes, they are so great! 🙂 Wish we didn’t live in an apartment, so we could put some up too!

Love the window boxes! They look beautiful!
I want window boxes, but the windows on the front of my house are only a foot off the ground, so they are kind of pointless.

I am SO happy for you, I know you’ve been wanting them for quite awhile!!
We saw the prettiest window boxes when we were in Charleston, SC last month…they were all full & bright & just yummy, I told my husband these would rock your world (& of course he says “who?” & I replied with “you know, Maximus’ mom”…harhar). 😉
Beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the endless decorating possibilities over the seasons!
I have been dreaming of window boxes for the front of my house. I imagine how beautiful they would look! Just like yours! Maybe someday when my money tree starts to bloom :). They look great!

Gorgeous! My house really needs planter boxes! I’m on my way over to the Lowe’s website to check them out. Don’t tell my husband. He’ll roll his eyes at me!
I love love love the planters! I just recently… as in this morning… found an outside potted tree with lights (@ a yard sale for $5 I might add) to put on my front porch then stopped by the wonderful Dollar Tree to find some 4th of July inspired garland to wrap around it… I’m thinking a Lowe’s gift card would make my newly found crafting bones so happy!
So pretty!! I’m addicted to Lowes and their idea books! Thank you for hosting.
I love the way your window boxes look. I keep meaning to get some myself but then I think about how dirty my house is and power wash it…or look my other plants are wilting and I need to water them. One day I will get to that step!
Love them! I would love to do the exact same thing!
Love these boxes and great selection on the plants!
Sweet. Love the look!
Wow! Those look great! I wonder how they would install on a brick front??
These are too cute! I’m still working on making the front door area more welcoming. A set of potted plants would make a great addition.
If I won a gift card from Lowes, I do believe I would have to use mine for the same project! I wonder if I could make mine half as pretty as yours?!

Beautiful! I have some on my front porch railing, love to change the look every year! Thanks for the chance to win!
I asked for a window box for the shop window for Mother’s Day. My husband asked, “Who looks out of the shop window?” No one. But I look AT the shop window all day and I’d like it to be pretty. Since I didn’t get it I would use the gift card to purchase it for myself.

These are beautiful! How did you get the height out of all those plants? I am renting, so I could not install a permanent winodow box, but I would love to imitate this look in a planter. Nice job:)
Gorgeous! I love the variety of greens!!!
I LOVE your window boxes!
Chris,
They came out beautiful! And I bet the plants go beautifully with the ones you planted last year by your front door.
Elaine

Those are darling for your house! Don’t you love doing things to the outside of your home and then driving up thinking “my house is SO CUTE!” I still do that with our new light fixtures! I make sure to gush about it to my handyman also, that way the next time a project comes up he will be a willing participant! 🙂
I love your new boxes, and the plants look great! I need some of these myself.

Hubby and I aren’t the best co-workers, which is another testament to how fairly simple putting in the wide plank pine floors are… we’re still married and the floor is almost done!

I love your window boxes…they are absolutely beautiful. The contrast in colors between your swett potato vine and your other flowers are gorgeous. I’ve been thinking we need window boxes on the front of our house ever since we moved in and I guess since my husband’s not so handy I’ve been putting that thought back on the shelf. You may have just inspired me to do it! Next time I’m at Lowes I’m looking at them…seriously!
Love the boxes! They look fantastic just as they are. The planting arrangement you used it beautiful. Thanks for the giveaway and as always for sharing your talents with us.
Ok, I have one of those handy, handy men, but mine doesn’t look as hunky as yours! What number did you call!!? Well, I scanned the 789 comments and no one asked about WATER! Here in dry California, I’d need a drip to these beauties! They’d require daily H2O and good drainage. I could always do as I’ve seen some homeowners do and get an armload of silk flowers and stick them in. Blue carnations? Just kidding. I draw the line here!
I love window boxes. I think it warms up a house. Hmmm, now where I put them at my house 🙂
Those are gorgeous. Perfect for the house. Your house looks like it might look like the house I grew up in. I am a new flower, so I’ll have to go explore! Isn’t nice to have live in handy man??? 🙂

I love all the creative ideas I’ve seen. If I won the gift card I would use it to help finish our back yard. We have been in our house three years and the back yard still isn’t finished. We just had our third child, so we don’t have money growing on trees so to speak. We need some tress and rock to finish it!
My family and I are building a new house, it is almost done! I’ve been eyeing windows boxes myself and I’m glad to see they weren’t too hard to install. They are the perfect touch! Love your arrangement…may have to copy it if I end up getting my boxes this year!

Liz
