Halloween…again.

October 21, 2008 by Chris

Thanks to my blogging friends, I’m hooked on consignment shopping. As a matter of fact, I think it has ruined me. I can rarely buy anything from Target anymore, because I have these delusions that I can find it at Goodwill for less. Well, when it comes to holiday decorations, I just may be onto something. Look at this cute little church I found for $1.99 the other day.

And look what I turned it into.
I searched this whole town for some more things to put on it, but Christmas crafts have already taken over. Don’t think I didn’t consider glittering some part of it. 🙂 It’s good for now. Maybe next year, I’ll add some more details. For now…
pretty spooky, don’t ya think?
I guess I don’t always shop at consignment stores. I stumbled on this little lady at Wal Mart the other day. I love her!
In the theme of spooky abodes, I found this velour spooky house at Hobby Lobby the other day. I just love it. I keep thinking I’m done with Halloween, and then I go to a blog. Big mistake. If you haven’t been over to House of Whimsy yet, you neeeeed to see her decorations. I won’t consider myself done until I get some of these hands she has.
Her decorations are done so nicely that it seriously looks like a display in a store. Kinda puts my “spooky church” on my kitchen table to shame, doesn’t it? Go visit and tell her I say hi!

Well, I have visited her and she does have the Halloween Decor rather perfected, doesn’t she. ?
I’m loving your creative ideas though. I would not have thought to make that church spooky and although I love that velour spooky house, I wouldn’t have picked it up because I would have had no idea what to do with it. I love a thrifty buy and when you combo it with a creative idea you’ve got a winner in my book.

That cute spooky church needs to go next to that cute spooky house, and you’ve got a cute spooky village started! LOL!

That spooky church was such a great idea! And I'm so with you on the Goodwill thing. Funny how prices start to look "expensive" at Target & Walmart when you shop at consignments. :o)

That turned out so neat! You are definitly a crafty one!! ( no pun intended!)

I kinda gave up on crafting on fall and am already trying to think about Christmas!

You know making the cards, decorating the house something in each room, finding or making the perfect gift for everyone, baking up a storm etc.

    Help MARTHA!!!

Oh my gosh, I know what you mean. It’s really bad when you are at Big Lots and you think “$5? Whatever. I can get it for $3.50 at Goodwill.” Truly sad!!

No, no, your spooky house is perfect! I keep telling myself, stay home, do laundry, don’t spend another DIME on this holiday! Then everything will go on clearance Nov 1st and I know I’ll cave!!

How come my Wal-Mart doesn’t have things like that? We have 1 measly isle of Halloween. I made Dan stop on the way to CA at one just to buy some spooky fabric drapes to use for the pirate party!

And I am very very impressed with what you did with your $1.99 house. Now that’s thinking outside the box. It’s wonderful!

    Very nice decorations.
I got a late start on my Fall decorations and noticed the same thing… stores have already pushed aside Fall items to make room for their Christmas products. Just for the record, I can’t complain too much – it gave me a good excuse to do some early Christmas decoration shopping!

Great deal on the church bldg. It really looks scary. How did you get the inside yellow? Is it a light? I love the velor house. I was just at Hobby Lobby and I didn’t see it. Darn…really nice decorations. I told you, I really like how you have incorporated all the black sparkle.
