Happy Favorite Things week! Ok, maybe not a whole week, but it might feel like it after you finish shopping for everything. So my best friend Sarah hosts a bunch of fantastic bloggers (and me) to share our favorite things this week. It’s a nice way to get everyone excited for what’s to come–holiday shopping.
Anyone else singing this song right now?
I digress. Let’s begin!
Favorite Books
I’ve professed my love (totally not weird) for Lauren before, but her book Habitat: The Field guide to Decorating was a no-brainer purchase for me. I think about what she would do every time I design a room. I pretty much need a “what would Lauren do” bracelet.
If you follow Whitney over at The Tiny Canal Cottage blog, you are just as enamored with her home as I am. Not only is it done so beautifully well, but I’m always intrigued by how she does it so well in a small space. This is my next read, for sure.
Favorite Music
Ok, hear me out. I’m a 45-year old woman in love with Harry Styles. Like, seriously the best album I’ve heard in years. Years, people! I play the whole album on repeat. It certainly makes me realize that you don’t have to be 16 to be a Harry fan.
And to make things even weirder? They have a hoodie of all his tattoos. I didn’t buy it for myself. That would be weird. Would it? Regardless, my daughter has it and gets compliments on it ALL the time.
Favorite Gifts
Ok, these don’t have to be gifts. “It’s more of a “one for your friend; one for you” kind of thing, ya know?
We bought this pressurized growler for my husband for his birthday recently, and it was a HIT! They have different sizes, but he has the largest one. Ya know, for all those parties he hosts. And this microwave popcorn bowl? Game. Changer. We used to love microwave popcorn until we realized how unhealthy (and toxic!) it is. So we went without–for years. I have purchased this bowl for several people, and they ALL love it.
In full disclosure, I don’t have the next two things, but they are in my cart. Along with 32 other items. #sendhelp #andmoney
Basically, winter is coming in Michigan. That means layers. I love this sweater because it’s cozy without being a messy poncho. And how cute is this tunic? It comes in multiple colors. Which means I have to decide which one to purchase. Or do I….?
And finally, the best topcoat I’ve ever used on a project goes to General Finishes Topcoat in flat. I wanted something that would not change the sheen of my bookshelves in my new office, and nothing was working. I was trying all kinds of stuff from the store, and then I stumbled on this on Amazon. It is SO good. It goes on beautifully, keeps the true color of the paint, AND is a true flat. Pretty sure I’ve found my “forever topcoat”.
Well, that wraps up my list, but we are just getting started! Here is the list of bloggers you can look forward to hearing from this week! I’m actually nervous to read ’cause we all know what’s going to happen. Stay strong, will power!
