I’m back!!! Right now you’re thinking, “You left?”
Yes, I’ve been gone for awhile. It’s been a whirlwind summer, and I’m glad to be settling back into “normal” life. It included a 17-day trip to Europe (SO much to say about that), a huge project in Detroit for Lowe’s (more on that below), a trip to Destin, and of course…Haven! Don’t you worry. I’ll have a whole post on that as well. Lucky you, eh?
Every blogger says, “You have to be consistent”…”Your readers need to rely on you to post on certain days.” Well chuck it. My blogging career can’t abide by those standards, and I’ll bet yours can’t either! If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this past year, it’s that it is what it is. You do your best. I do my best. Sound like a good plan?
Ok. Let’s talk about one of the places I’ve been. Back in the spring (winter?), Lowe’s reached out to me about refreshing someone’s home for spring. Yay, right? Sounds awesome! Count. me. in. I had numerous participants to choose from, but this one. This baby was the chosen one—said with echoes.
I selected Mary’s home (Hi, Mary!) because it wasn’t just a patio or a porch that I could change for her. This whole house could be transformed in a couple of days, and I knew it would be more bang for the buck, ya know? Ideas started swirling as soon as she mentioned mid-century modern. It was exactly the direction I would have gone, so it was an easy design plan.
Her house and her taste didn’t call for frills, and I was totally on board! I love simple and classic, and mid-century modern really calls for clean lines and earth tone colors. So here’s what I was thinking…
It’s a pretty simple mood board, but Mary loved it. We were definitely on the same page! The only thing that stood in our way? Michigan weather… How’s that for a cliff hanger?
