Aside from working, planning for Haven, going to softball games, wrestling meets, blah, blah, blah…I’ve been trying to get our living room updated a bit. After finally finding the sectional, it just seemed like such a blank space behind it. It needed something.
I quickly found the perfect table (that never happens). It’s the Safavieh Simon Natural Table. It was the perfect size, and I thought it was the perfect finish.
And then I got it. Uhhhh it was orange. This picture really doesn’t do it justice. I tried to live with it this way for a couple of weeks, but it was just too glaring for me.
I sanded it down and mixed up some various stains until I found a finish I liked.
I didn’t want it quite as dark as the tv console table I built, but it needed to be similar. Pretty good!
It broke up the space just enough, but it’s airy and light enough that it doesn’t weigh down the space. That’s the designer-y way of saying I like it.
Basically, don’t discard a piece of furniture—even when it’s new!—too quickly. Maybe you can tweak it a bit to make it what you want!
It looks great! I love that room!
What a beautiful room! The table looks so much better now too.
Ohhhhh I love it! Great job 🙂
