I promise I’ll be back in the game next week. I’m pretty sure! It’s been a rough week at the JaG house. Can’t seem to catch a break around here, ya know? 🙂
Tomorrow I will be attending the funeral of my 18-year old student. She was 7 days away from finishing high school and was one of the brightest highlights of my career. It’s heartbreaking.
And just to make things worse, I had not one, but two sick kids stay home from school this week.
Is it wrong that in their time of misery, I couldn’t resist taking pictures of their adorableness?
My point? My head just wasn’t in the game this week, but I had to check in. I’ll be back!
sorry you are having such a rough time. i hope things get better for you. as for the sick kids, i can relate; all 3 of my kids had a 24 hour stomach bug this week. my husband and i also got it. it was awful. i hope they are feeling better!
Oh how horrible! I am sorry that you had such a terrible week 🙁
I am so sorry to hear that about your student…..as a teacher, I can only imagine how hard that is to deal with. Hang in there….
I have not been able to stop thinking about that sweet girl all week. I have just been so sad for her family and wishing our old lady selves could somehow visit us when we were that age to tell us “It’s going to be GREAT! Just WAIT!” It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve been sending little prayers and thoughts to them…praying that they can find some peace in all of this eventually. I sent you a big hug too friend – did you get it? 🙂
Hope you are doing okay…hope the other students and her friends are able to talk about this and will be okay also. Hope your kiddos are cozy in those blankets and getting better soon.
I’m so sorry about your student. Tragic loss. And sick kids certainly don’t make the week any easier. Sending prayers of healing your way and comfort to you student’s family. 🙁
Such sad news about your student.. I teach 5&6 yr olds can’t imagine losing any of them. Prayers for you and your class of 2012 x
I hate hearing news like this – 18 is too young – my prayers are with you. Hope you’re little ones get to feeling better soon – they do look pretty darn cute all snuggled on the couch!
Oh, Chris, that is so heartbreaking. Truly very sorry. Praying for you and the family and friends of your student. I hope you find peace soon.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your student; lots of thoughts and prayers to her family and friends. Glad you couldn’t resist taking pictures of your babies, they look so adorable all snuggly and cozy on the couch, hope they are feeling better. And how about you? Hope you are finding a little time for yourself, Chris.
My heart always breaks for the family and friends of those that we lose at such a young age. I try to find comfort in knowing that they are in a better place but often the sadness clouds my sight. I’m sorry that all of this was compounded by having your own sweethearts feeling under the weather but I hope that by now both of them (and your heart) are on the mend. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers. xo
Sorry for your loss. Hope the kids are better soon.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your student. 🙁
i’m very sorry about your student! how terrible. :o(
I’m so, so, so sorry for your loss. It’s such a tragedy to lose someone so young and full of promise. I just lost my 22 year-old brother and I understand how devastating it is. Sending a prayer for you and for the family and friends of your student. No one should ever have to go through what you all are going through. It’s not fair.
Oh, I am so very sorry. I’ve had a few (a few too many) students pass during my teaching career and it is just awful.
Hope everyone is on the mend at yours and you take a bit of time for yourself.
Oh no!
This is so sad… I am so very sorry .
so sorry about your student and sick kids. Here’s to a better week!
I’m so sorry about your student.
I hate hearing about the loss of a child- so tragic. Hold on to your babies! Feel better all around.
I’m so sorry – you have had a rough week. My prayers are going out to you and your family for the loss of your loved one, and to your student’s family as they deal with the loss of their daughter. I hope things start getting better and looking up for you! Don’t worry about coming back to soon – -rest and relax and enjoy all that’s yours.
Life is not fair sometimes. Losing people in our lives is tough but it tougher in
a different way when it is one of your students.
Blessings and prayers for you and her family.
Hope your two sickies are doing better.
Melinda
Gosh, you have really had a few bumps in the road to deal with lately. Loss is so hard. Blessings to all of you and hoping you all are back in the regular groove of things soon!
That is so horribly sad. I’m sending prayers to her family and yours.
Oh this hits my heart hard…this week.
To your healing heart and kidlets…and to the angels above.
What happened to that poor girl? How sad. Sorry you’re going through such a tough time. And your babies WILL get better. They are cute lying there sleeping so peacefully.
