I’ve been out of town for a few days. I didn’t tell you that, did I? Oops. Sorry. Well I’m back, and I couldn’t move on without telling you where I’ve been. I went to see these guys.
(perhaps the coolest picture taken of 4 people ever on the face of the planet)
They’ve been my favorite band since high school (which has been awhile). I’m not much of a concert fan, but I will go to this concert anytime I can. It helps that I go with this guy.
While I’ve seen U2 in concert several times, it’s never been anything of this magnitude. It was held at Michigan State’s football field, and there were over 60,000 fans cheering them on. Pretty momentous.
The “lock down” rules prohibited me from bringing my good camera, but I still got some pretty cool shots with my little point and shoot.
The Edge. The coolest guy. Ever.
Their set. I wonder if they used any spray paint or hot glue on that thing.
So that’s where I’ve been. As I try to come down from my U2 high (as I call it), I am settling into “project land” (as I call it). Right now, my projects include…
- dirt
- flowers
- tablecloths
- pillows
- baskets
- a desk
- paint
- fabric
- foam
- a mirror
- a canvas
- more fabric
- a piano bench
- spray paint (of course)
- …and on and on.
I’ll be back with more. Just as soon as I figure out what to actually finish first.
So glad you enjoyed New Kids – didn’t you say “The Right Stuff” is your favorite song? 😉
Looks like an awesome concert…
I was there too! Best concert I have ever been to by far, glad to know I am not the only one coming down from a “U2 high.”
I love Bono! What fun! I’m glad they are still around, I’ve liked them since highschool too!
I love U2 ….get shots!
I’m so glad you posted this. I “like” U2 but not a huge fan and I don’t listen to them often, but, have a friend-who-has-a-friend that works at a stadium in Mpls, MN and got free tickets. After seeing these pics I am beyond fired up!!! Thanks for sharing and glad you had a great time. I’m off to go listen to a little Desire and With or Without You. 🙂
My sweet husband & I are going to see them in Nashville this weekend! I’m so excited!!!
i was there too!!! Honestly I think I sat to your left from some of your shots 🙂 AMAZING show, AMAZING!!!

I LOVE concerts … this one looks pretty phenomenal … lucky you!!!!
AWESOME PICS!!!What a cool stage!
Glad you had a good time with the hubs and look forward to hearing more about project land!
😀
Awesome! We’re going to see them when they come to Pittsburgh at the end of July. Can’t wait, it’ll be my first U2 concert!
I went to Chicago in Sept 09 and saw them. Best.Concert.EVER! I had tickets to see them in Denver shortly after, but Bono had back surgery and the new date didn’t work for me to attend. It was sad. I would see them any chance I got!
Same thing happened to us, Beth Ann! We were supposed to go last summer. Thank GOODness the date worked out for us this year! I would have been heartbroken!
I could not agree more !!! U2 is my absolute favorite also! Years ago they came to Hershey, PA to practice for a week before an upcoming world tour. I happened to be walking in the parking lot of the stadium and they drove right by me in a convertible car, going real slow. Needless to say I went CRAZY!!!!! My husband knows that if Bono ever came knocking on our front door, I’d be running out the door to join him. Would love to just have an ounce of their coolness, is that just a guy thing or can girls be cool like that too?
So JEALOUS!! They are on my band bucket list. I have to see them!! I guess I’ll wait for the next world tour. The snippet off of their website when Commander Kelly introduced “Beautiful Day” in Seattle (from space) was awesome!
Yes, Laura Lynn! That was SO cool! I hope you get to see them someday! It’ll be worth the wait.
Oh, you lucky girl. I’ve never seen U2 in concert, although my husband and oldest son have seen them twice. Hmmm. . . maybe I should make sure there’s a ticket for me next time!
You got some wonderful pics with your point-and-shoot camera. Nice to have images to go along with your memories, isn’t it? And I love that photo of you and your husband! You should frame that and have it on your desk at school–proof positive that you are one cool teacher!
Oh, Richella. You should go if you get a chance. There’s just nothing like U2 (in my opinion, of course). Thanks so much for the compliment!
Oh how fun! I’m a huge fan of theirs as well and have been lucky enough to get to see them 4 times already. What can I say, I’m a fan 😉 The last concert I saw was in Sept ’09 at Chicago… that was so great!!! They really do know how to put on a show.
Me too, Michaela! This was by far the biggest one I’ve been to, but not necessarily the best. I feel ashamed to even say that. 🙂 Great band!
