Happy Monday and welcome back to another great week of the Must List! To say that my friend Kate is an inspiration would be an understatement. Centsational Girl is a “go to” blog for me because I know that everything she touches turns to gold. One of her many talents? Paint. The girl knows how to choose it, and today she’s sharing her favorites with us!
Greetings all, Kate here from Centsational Girl, so delighted to be a guest for my friend Chris! She asked me to share a few of my favorite paint colors and that’s tough because really, how does one choose? I’m such a paint lover, paint hoarder is more accurate. It’s impossible to walk by the paint aisle at any home improvement store and not grab a few swatches. I love paint so much, I happily invested in several paint decks from favorite suppliers just to have something to turn to.
I happen to love Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams, Glidden and Valspar for walls, and I share my favorites for furniture in this post (hint: enamel and chalk paint!). Time and again I return to my favorite soothing colors in my own home, greens, blues, and grays. Here’s a list of my favorites that appear on the walls in our home.
Favorite Whites (for trim and cabinetry):
Last year we added board and batten to our son’s room and finished it off with Benjamin Moore’s ‘Dove White’ which is a beautiful fresh bright white. In the family room I wanted something slightly warmer, so I chose ‘Linen White’ by Benjamin Moore for our family room cabinets. Both are divine!
Favorite Grays:
I’m a huge lover of grays, but always with a hint of blue. In both our living room and master bedroom, the walls are painted in custom mixes (I’m always tweaking them!) but the closest color matches are ‘Portico’ by Valspar and ‘Comfort Gray’ by Benjamin Moore.
Favorite (intense) Blues:
Blue is my favorite color and in our house there are two vivid blues that make a statement, in the boy’s bedroom is ‘La Fonda Villa Fountain’ by Valspar, and along the back of our Billys to built ins is a color very close to Benjamin Moore Affinity ‘Fiji’.
Favorite Greens:
Green is another popular shade our house, in the kids room is another one of my custom mixes because I’m strange like that, but its closest match is ‘Elemental’ by Benjamin Moore Affinity. In the dining room, family room, and kitchen, ‘Camouflage’ by Benjamin Moore is the color of choice, it’s a fantastic gray green that looks gray in indirect light and green in direct light, so soothing and serene, and a wonderful neutral too.
Thanks Chris for letting me be a guest for you today, enjoy your time off my friend, can’t wait to read more from the special guests this week!
Thank you so much my friend for having me as your guest today, so excited you’re taking a little time off and I’m really looking forward your series of guests in your fabulous “Must List” series!
xo

Geez, where the heck have I beeen! I just found all these ‘must list’ posts…..love this little series you have going on. They are all some of my favorite bloggers and it’s fun to see a post with their quick tips all wrapped into one. Kate is one of the first bloggers I found when I discovered blogging last summer. I remember thinking, this chic has it “going on”! 🙂 and indeed she does. I just recently saw her sons room post and oh my gosh I love that little room. Just gorgeous 🙂
Love this series…so many talented ladies with so many tips! I have been currently adding more blues/greens/grays to my own home. BTW…Comfort Gray is from Sherwin Williams…I used it in my family room and love the color! I agree with you…Kate is amazing and her blog is always one I go to first for inspiration and decor tips!
