Well, they’re progress pictures, but they’re at night. That’s about what you’re gonna get until I can figure out how to get something done before 9:00 around here.
You’ve asked about the pallets, and I imagine this will give you an idea of what we’re doing. My son is in his “tween” phase, and his room needed to catch up with him a bit. We are both excited to see it transform.
After picking up a new fan deck and 261 samples of gray, I believe we decided on one. My son helped with the decision, but let’s be honest—my vote counted twice. He likes it, so we’re good to go. The dark wall will be hidden. I just painted it to cover any gaps that might occur when I start attaching the planks.
The goal is to finish the wall over the weekend. The reality is I will then have to paint the walls, refinish the furniture, buy new bedding, hang new curtains, and more. DIY. It’s never done, is it?
I love the paint colors you have to choose from!!! Can’t wait to see them 🙂
Thanks for hosting!!
Thank you, Christina!
Wow! You’re going to do a whole wall in pallet wood? Holy cats, that will be so cool!
(Thanks for hosting the party, too.)
Well, if it turns out how I picture it, it’ll be cool. 🙂 We’ll have to see! Thanks!
Oooh I love the color on that wall! Can’t wait to see this unfold! Thanks for hosting Show & Share – I for once have something completed enough link up!
Awesome, Lisa! I’ll have to go check it out! Thanks for stopping by!
I have been obsessing over gray paint colors! Who knew there were so many shades of gray?!? Can’t wait to see how this turns out!
Thank you for hosting!

Every time I pick out a new paint, I say it’s the hardest color to choose. I now feel that about gray. Gees! Thank you!
What a fabulous idea for a boys room. I’m excited to see how it all comes together. I know you on’t disappoint! Thanks for hosting!
I will do my best not to disappoint! Thanks for the encouragement!
That paint looks amazing with the wood! I can’t wait to see how it all comes together.
I already have major house envy, so this may just do me in!
Ha! I sure hope it turns out how I picture it! If not, it could be a total disaster. We’ll see… 🙂
It will look great! Can’t wait to see it done. Thanks for hosting!
I loved you son’s room before. Can’t wait to see what’s coming! I wish my 12 year old and I could agree on how to update his room.
I did too, Colette. But it had been 8 years. He was due for an update. Thanks for stopping by!
I love that gray! I can’t wait to see the wall all finished. And the whole room too. Thanks for hosting this week and happy painting.
I have zero visualization skills, so I can’t envision how the pallets will look. But that gray is wonderful! Can’t wait to see the finished product. I love what you put together!
I have too many visualization skills! 🙂 That’s my problem. Hope it turns out!
You are so right… A house is never done! Can’t wait to see the final result! Thanks for hosting.
I love the colors you chose. I can’t wait to see what you do with the room. I always enjoy your transformations. As for projects never being done…too true…my mom always tells me I will never let my house rest. LOL Have a great weekend.
I love that “let the house rest.” It’s a perfect way to explain it! I hope it turns out. Thanks for the encouragement!
Your progress is looking great! I know DIY is never done over here! 🙂 Thank you for finding the time to host SAS Day, have a great weekend!
You bet, Michelle! It sure helps with my blog stalking if all the projects are in one place each week. It’s selfish of me, really. 🙂
I can’t wait to see the end result. Thanks for hosting. Have a great weekend…even if you will be “working”. 🙂
I can’t wait to see how this room turns out!
Thanks for hosting this fun party! Have a great weekend!
Thank you, Stephanie! You too!
That room is going to be DIVINE!!!!! So cool, what a lucky guy. I finished my son’s room exactly 1 year ago and he’s already talking about his next one?!!?!!?!?!?!? Um, no. At least not until I’ve finished all the other rooms in the house, then I guess it’s time to loop back around and do it all again?! at my pace, that should be 2021.
thanks for hosting the rocking par-tay!
That’s so true, Cassie! We’ll never be done, but I think that’s why we like to DIY, right? Thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you so much for hosting! I can’t wait to see the finished room. My daughter just turned ten and has also entered that “tween” phase where a room revamp is becoming necessary.
This week I’ve linked up two recipes: The first is for the Madeleine “Oyster & Pearl” cakes that I made for my daughter to take to school on her birthday. The second is for a screamin’ good poblano macaroni & cheese.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you for linking up, Jenn! I’ll definitely have to go check them out. They sound awesome!
Love the window….not a big fan of grey, seems to be a colour that has become fashionable but rarely does it seem to work in the rooms that I ve seen so really interested to see for myself how you do it. I’m watching this space…..
So…..what’s the name of the color? This was the baseball room, right? I really loved that room but I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I’ll be back to see the finished product. My 11 yr old’s room is desperately needing an overhaul too. Thanks for hosting again this week.
I just recently found and started following your blog and I love it! Did I understand correctly that you are using boards from a pallet for your son’s wall? Do you mind sharing where you got the pallets? My favorite designer is Sarah Richardson and she did a barn board ceiling in one of her boys’ rooms and I loved it! I’m sure your room will look amazing, too!
I love the wall color you picked. Can’t wait to see the finished product. My husband has tons of pallets at work – I really want to get my hands on some of them but I haven’t gotten permission yet! haha. Thanks for hosting!!
Hey Honey, Your well on your way to completetion. Looks really good. I love the grey’s. It’s going to look great in Jackson’s room. My grandkids are really lucky to have a mom with so many cool ideas. It takes me about 15 years to update a room. Can’t wait to see the completed room. Love ya!! Mom
Can you tell us the name of the color you used?
Oh I love that paint color and the pallets are intriguing!
Oh my gosh! I have been pinning rooms on Pinterest with wood wall treatments but am afraid to actually do it to a room. Can’t wait to see how yours turns out and how hard it ends up being. I have about 30 pallets at my disposal right now, so that is why I was thinking of doing a pallet wall. Good luck on this adventure, I can’t wait to see it done.
Oh my this is going to be gorgeous too!!! I have been obsessing over gray’s myself!!! There are about 10 different samples all over my walls right now! UGH.
Would you mind sharing the color you finally chose for this room?? Thanks
Hi April! I ended up going with Benjamin Moore’s Sabre Gray. Hope that helps!
