Even eleven years later, I find myself watching shows and reading articles about that horrible day. It’s on my mind, and I imagine it’s on the minds of many others.
“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.” –President George W. Bush
“For those of us who lived through these events, the only marker we’ll ever need is the tick of a clock at the 46th minute of the 8th hour of the 11th day.” –President George W Bush
“Now, we have inscribed a new memory alongside those others. It’s a memory of tragedy and shock, of loss and mourning. But not only of loss and mourning. It’s also a memory of bravery and self-sacrifice, and the love that lays down its life for a friend–even a friend whose name it never knew.” –President George W. Bush
My thoughts and prayers to the survivors and friends and family of those affected by that day. I will always remember.
Lovely post. I will always remember too.
Wow…looking through your pictures made me stop cold: I wrote today on my blog about how I picked a random name 11 years ago to pray for, and I’ve continued to pray for those he left behind ever since. Of all the names you could have captured, his is there: Jeffrey James Olsen! He is on the First Responders list: He was FDNY. Wow….I can’t believe I read your blog tonight and there it was. So cool.
Divine intervention at play here!
Always. Beautiful post.
Chris, what a beautiful tribute….. very touched by your post. Our family had a great loss the same year, my husband’s parents died in a home fire in February of 2001 and the grief was still raw, when we watched the events of September 11th. All of our lives were changed that year and the world cannot and should not ever forget….
hi Chris, just saw you in BHG, how awesome! Congratulations!!! you so rock 🙂
