Pink Accents

October 26, 2008 by Chris

Help. I’m surrounded by the plague. My son just got over being sick, my daughter is now sick, and my husband’s been on the couch all day because of a sore throat. Yes, I said all day–over a sore throat. Anywho, I’ve been home putzing around the house for hours. Do a load of laundry, spray paint something, check child, and repeat.

I’ve said before that my house is in a constant state of change. My daughter’s room has been kind of cutesy looking for a couple of years. Now that she’s solidly out of her toddler years, I’m slowly trying to make it a little more dressy. Key word–slowly.

Today, I used MOLLIES and a screwdriver to hang some new dress up hooks in her room. Some of you are laughing at my sense of accomplishment, but this was a big deal for me. However, don’t look too closely. While I was able to get the new mollies in, I was NOT able to get the old mollies out! That’ll have to happen another day, I guess.

They were $4.00 a piece, so they were totally worth it. As a matter of fact, I’d pay another $4.00 just to get someone to pull out those mollies!

My best friend bought this fairy for my daughter last year, and I’ve been in love with it. However, it was always just a little off. My guess is whoever made this doesn’t actually have a little girl.
Otherwise, they would have made it look like this in the first place!
And lastly, my consignment shopping has paid off. I found this mirror for $4.99 about a month ago (yes, that’s how long it’s taken me to hang it). I had it painted right away, but I’m always indecisive about where to put things. Here’s the before…

And here’s the after…

Well there you go–a sneak peak of my daughter’s room. I’ll have more pictures tomorrow. For now, I have sick family members to tend to. All you mothers out there do know that this means the mother of all sicknesses is coming at me, don’t you? Mind over matter, mind over matter…

I LOVE the pink mirror! And I still have the things in my walls in our bathroom. I haven’t figured how to get them out! Once out it’s going to be a mess because the walls are all textured.

Try getting pliers and pulling the anchor out, or try pushing them right through the drywall, then fill the holes. Sometimes this is the only way to get them out! Love the mirror!

Oh WOW! Great post dear. What a find and total transformation on the mirror. Your good eye is working overtime…Perfect change on the black to pink glitter fairy. That Martha Stewart glitter is worth the extra cost. Very fine.. looks better than others.
Remember: Your not sick, Your not sick, Your not sick. Get more rest and lots of water. Tell Doug he has to pamper you if you do get ill.

    Love love love the fairy!

I know what you mean about your husband laying down *just* for a sore throat. My DH is excatly the same way: he would lay down like he is at the death’s door. Ugh!

I just stay far away from him so I dont’ have to get sick and not to hear his whine.

Can’t wait to see the rest of your daughter’s room! 🙂
