Can you believe I’ve been blogging all these years, and this is my very first recipe? I think it says a lot about how I cook. 🙂 It’s so good, perhaps it was worth the wait. My grandmother was the BEST baker I’ve ever known, and this is her recipe. I basically grew up on chocolate no-bakes, but this peanut butter version is a show-stopper. Everytime I bring them to a party, someone asks for the recipe. Sooooo it’s worthy of a post.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup butter
- 1/2 Cup milk
- 2 Cups sugar
Bring ingredients to a boil over medium heat. Let it rolling boil for two minutes and remove from heat.
Rolling boil–
As soon as you remove from heat, add the following ingredients and stir until mixed well:
- 3 Cups oatmeal (old fashion oats tend to be too big for this recipe, so I use 1-minute)
- 1/2 Cup peanut butter
- 1 Tsp. Vanilla
Quickly spoon cookies onto foil or wax paper.
If done correctly, they set up within a couple of minutes. Boil too long? They come out too hard. Boil too short? You’ll be eating them with a spoon. Not that that’s a bad thing.
These are seriously a family favorite, and they are extremely easy to make!

Could you use almond milk in place of cows milk?
Mmmmm! I made these yesterday and I quite agree that they are delish! And no chocolate, who knew?!? Thanks for sharing ;o)
Thank you for the recipe! I just made a batch, waiting for my youngest to get off the bus :). They are delicious.
Made these tonight. The ol’ hubster is a die-hard CHOC no-bake cookie fan, but this recipe blew them out of the water! Fantastic!
I’ve tried to make no bake cookies before and they always end up a soupy mess, I had no idea I wasn’t cooking it long enough! I’ll be giving these a try my family is ga-ga over peanut butter anything! 🙂
