My Nest’s Better than Yours…

May 19, 2009 by Chris

Critical Husband: “Why is the grill lid being left open all the time?”

Genius Wife: “’Cause there’s some birds trying to build a nest in there.”

Bossy Husband: “Well, it needs to be left down.”

Sarcastic Wife: “Yes, dear. Whatever you say.”

NEXT day….

Enlightened Husband (who looks shifty in this picture): “Uhhhh, I think we might have a bird’s nest in here.”

Sarcastic (and now victorious) Wife: “Oh MY. Really?”

IMG_5298

Sorry…guess I should have added that it was a black bird that made the nest. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I did see more than one bird go in there. Maybe it’s a duplex?

birds did the same thing in our grill last year! We finally found a cover at Lowe’s and it goes over the top and ties on the sides so the poor birdies are having to build elsewhere!

You’re going to have to whip up some white icing and pipe it into big bird poop to help make this realistic! What a -huge- nest! Maybe it’s some ducks? Maybe “shifty-looking” husband realized he’d get a new grill out of the deal… 🙂 Too funny- started my morning out with a laugh- thanks!

I say better a bird’s nest than a rat’s nest. DH went to open our FIRST grill one day and a big fat rat was sitting in the middle of a nest – yuck! Our house backed up to a creek and we got all kinds of crazy critters there. We have since moved and got a new grill. I could never eat anything cooked on that grill after that – double yuck!

    June 29, 2009 at 11:24 pm

LOL. I didn't know that birds can make nests on grills. I thought they prefer trees, haha~
What kind of birds live there?
