Every year, I pull out my trusty American flag for some Independence Day decor. I love it, and it certainly makes a statement.
Two years ago (yep-two years), I bought some 4th of July fabric to coordinate within the room. Well, in that two year procrastination-fest, I figured out how to make pillows without actually sewing them.
Now that I’m a no-sewer (that reads so-er, not sue-er), I decided to revisit the fabric. It was just the touch the living room needed. A little 4th. A little July. Me likey.
I forgot to make a tutorial on these, so I’ll be back with that. You won’t believe how quickly these come together. Well, maybe you will believe it. But you’ll be stunned. Flabbergasted?
How about a little link party? What have YOU been up to this week?
I love the flag! I wish I had a mantle or somewhere in my house to display something like that for the 4th!
I always love how you decorate your mantel!
Gosh, Veronica. I thought it was a little bland this year, but I got a late start. That totally made my day! Thank you!
OOps…I posted the same link twice..i meant to link another post-Sorry!!!
That’s ok! You can delete it, or I can. No problem!

The pillows look great and are the perfect touch to the room BUT that flag is FANTASTIC!! I LOVE IT!!! Don’t be surprised next year if I post a “inspired by” post linked to this!! It’s already bookmarked! 🙂

I just drool every time I look at all the things you post! I just your flag and those pillows are just perfect … do I dare ask if you hot glued them or something if you didn’t sew them?! LOL Thanks for always inspiring me since I really stink at decorating my place!
Loved it so much I can’t even type! I meant to say “I just LOVE your flag …”
I love the folk-art flag!! I have one that I think I’ll pull out… yours inspired me. 😉
The pillows turned out fantastic! I love the idea of changing out pillows for the seasons. The fabric you chose is perfect!

Hi Chris – your place looks great! As always!! You always inspire me! Did you make the flag above your mantle?? If so, can you share how? Thanks!!
Love that you are a no-sewer. 🙂
That flag is wonderful!
I continue to love your look and inspiration. Great job, as always!
I love your couches. Are they Pottery Barn? I love their slipcovered ones, but my budget is incredibly limited.
Hi Lisa! They are not. I believe they’re Bassett or Broyhill? We bought them 8 years ago, but we were able to customize them by choosing the arms, pillows, skirting, etc. I highly recommend them! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Chris;
Love your decorating ideas. What color is your living room…the color behind the fireplace?
You’re in luck, Kim! Here you go. Thank you!
