I started this process on January 7th. I just finished it the other day. No one ever accused me of being the fastest moving kid on the street, ya know?
Well, we definitely access information in a new way, so I thought JaG should stay up with the pace. I wish I had a fancier way to show you this, but my Droid won’t take screenshots. I tried—really—but you need a degree in Rocket Science to figure it out. I just didn’t have the time for another degree right now.
It’s so easy to view my recent posts now, and you don’t have to wait for load time or scroll through to maneuver around the screen. SO. Cool. You can use it on smart phones, e-readers, iPads, etc. Nice.
Those custom buttons below? I made them. It nearly broke me, but I made ‘em! Some people aim for marathons or PhD’s. I aim for buttons. It’s a big deal.
They just make things simple. You can move around quickly, efficiently, and effortlessly with the new mobile version. Of course, if it’s not for you, you can just opt to go back to the ol’ way at the bottom of the screen. If you get a chance, try it out.
I could go on and on about its nifty features, but I’ll let you explore it. I did some MAJOR DIY’ing this weekend, and I’m spent. We’re talking “take Motrin and go to bed” spent. I’ll be back!
Thank you so much for all the hard work you did to make a great mobile interface. On my last 12 hour road trip, my droid, you & House of Hepworths totally got me through. My little blog looks extra fancy when I show it to people on their smart phones — they love it. I hope other bloggers will make the move to mobile.
Visitready, your comment just made all that work totally worth it. THANK YOU!!
Okay, this post is Greek to me? I’m slow on the technology uptake these days …
… starting to show my age. But it looks cool. Whatever it is. Oh, and I don’t have a smart phone so I can’t check it out …
🙂
Linda
how neat! following your blog now.
:-(. I am one of those that turns the mobile device off every.single.time. I’m sorry…..i just hate it and always prefer the regular site view. I have an iPad, an iPhone, and a regular computer and I just don’t like the mobile site views. There have been two decorating blogs so far that do not have a feature/button to turn it off so I’ve just deleted them off my bookmarks. I wish it kept the regular view as the default, and you could opt to turn on the mobile feature. Sometimes I think it’s better to not follow in everyone else’s footsteps necessarily. Be a leader and not a follower!
My site going mobile IS being a leader, Liz. Comparatively speaking, not that many blogs have the mobile view, and I appreciate those that do. That’s the beauty of technology. You have the option to view it either way. I think that’s what’s so great about it! Everyone has their preferences, eh?
Fantastic! I did this about a month ago, and had readers thanking me for it! I’d love to know what you used. I used WP Touch Pro, and it was super simple. I just wrote about it today as one of my top five WordPress plugins, so hopefully more bloggers will go mobile. It’s definitely easier to use!
I used the same one, Kristi! You’re right–very easy. It took me a while to make the buttons, however. I’m not super quick on that stuff. 🙂
Awesome!!! I personally LOVE the mobile site. Makes everything load so much faster, plus everything seems so organized! WAY TO GO, GIRL! You ARE a leader 🙂 and I love that about you.
I love you. That is all. 🙂 Thank you!
I love this! I just got an iPhone so I am totally addicted to being able to access the blogs I love quickly and your mobile format is great!
Thanks!
Oh my goodness – you are EVERYWHERE!!! (Lucky me!)
LOVE it mobile! Way to GO 🙂 Keep up the great work (and with technology!!)
