Florida House Tour

August 24, 2011 by Chris

When I returned from Florida, I told you that I’d have a couple of house tours for you. If you’re anything like me (and let’s face it, I know you are), you like to see how other people live!pool fern

Our “home away from home” was at my best friend’s masculine pad in Naples.

Florida home

All the paint colors in the home were from the previous owners, but his furniture fit so well in it. He would want me to tell you that a flat screen tv is just waiting to be taken out of the box. It will replace what I affectionately called the “drive-in screen” soon.

living room

Stunning kitchen, no? I wonder if he should have bought a bigger refrigerator. And look! There’s no fingerprints on it!

Of course, this family of four did it’s best to fill the island with seashells, cell phones, and flowers/weeds the little one picked from the yard.

The dining room (aka the room he hardly ever uses) has a perfect view of the pool, and it’s right next to a gorgeous bar/butler’s pantry. Normally fully stocked with beverages and candles, he had stocked it with tons of pool toys for the kids. No need to wonder why he’s my bff at this moment.

The entry separates the master bedroom from what became the guestrooms. No one was bumping into one another, and it was perfect for some privacy.

I’m still kicking myself for not getting more pictures, but here is his bedroom. I told him that the painting is mine when he dies. ‘Cause I’m morbid like that. And I really love that painting.

master bedroom

Of course, everyone’s favorite room wasn’t really a room at all.

pool volleyball

If we weren’t at the ocean or out to eat somewhere, we were here. Night and day.

Just so you don’t go thinkin’ I’m a liar.

night pool

And my favorite spot (besides being in the pool, of course) was riiiiight heeerre.

It’s fun to take a peek into other homes, eh? It’s such a lesson in design and architecture when you travel to other regions. I love it!

I love how the house seems so centered around the pool– though with a pool that gorgeous it is the obvious choice. However really I am drooling over the refrigerator– that is huge!

Great house thanks for showing. It is so fun to see other homes. The kitchen was beautiful I really liked the cabinet set up on the wall.

I have 5 sets of doors that open to my pool. And you can use 2 Sear refrigerators for that same look – just change how the doors swing to get that look for a little less. Living in the sunshine state does have more advantages then fresh oranges on your trees.

I was just in Naples last week with my family to visit my sister. I’ve never been to Florida before that and I absolutely LOVED it. I want to go back. The home styles are so different from my town and I found the change so refreshing. I can’t pull off the “naturally windswept” beach hair either. Did you notice how clean everything was there? The streets were beautiful, beaches pristine. I think I might have to move there.

What a fantastic house! I don’t know how you tore yourself away to come home–it looks like a wonderful place to spend a vacation. Love it.

Naples in my favorite place in the entire world. My grandparents live up there in the winter months and we go there 6- 8 times a year. When they are not in naples they reside here, in nashville, tn, with us. Naples is the best place on earth.

What a fabulous place. I need to find me some friends like him! Love it. Maybe my honey could just take lessons from him and we could live in a place like that! It is simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing a peek inside with us!

I love seeing other people’s houses… best source of inspiration, especially when they are “real” houses. Coincidentally I live in Florida and love the look of houses down here… easy and relaxed.
