Hey there! If you’re coming over from DIY Showoff, welcome! I promise not to be too annoying. My friend Melissa asked a few of us to talk about our favorite things, and how can one turn that down? I have to find my favorite things, put pictures of them in a post, and talk about them. I think I can handle that.
Michigan winter equals boots. There’s just no way around it. I recently ordered these Hunter boots (1) for myself. Merry Christmas to me? I can’t wait to get them! The brown pair (2) are by Franco Sarto, and I’m madly in love. Not sure if someone can get any pickier about a brown boot than me, but these things are spectacular. Comfortable, snug around the calves, and good tread for snow. Sold.
Ok. These are clearly not necessities, but man do they change my life on a daily basis. Remember when I said Michigan winters require boots? Yeah well, they also require fur blankets from Restoration Hardware (1) and a Keurig coffee machine (2) that makes any kind of coffee or tea that I want.
Some more of my daily loves are a bit random.
1. When I turned 40 this year (gasp!), I decided I would no longer purchase my makeup in the teeny bop section of the grocery store. Don’t judge me. It was time to step it up. I did some research–cause that’s what I do–and chose Urban Decay foundation. It. is. awesome.
2. I need vitamins. I’m around 650 teenagers every day. You feelin’ me? The problem is actually taking them. Taking these gummy vitamins make the chances much greater that I’ll actually take these things. So yummy!
3. Bath and Body Works Fresh Balsam candle. It’s my best friend. It smells like winter. Not Christmas. Winter. I love it!
What I’m about to show you might border on an obsession, but I’m ok with it. I went to Europe this year and discovered Cath Kidston. I walked into the store, and it embraced me in a floral and polka dot hug. That’s all she wrote. The pictures below are a sampling of what I purchased. I’m lucky I made it out of there alive really.
And finally, this movie. Pitch Perfect could play on a continuous stream for hours, and I would never tire of it. Skylar Astin? Musical medlies? All over it.
Head over to Infarrantly Creative to see what her favorite things are! I know I will! And if you want to see all the week’s bloggers and their favorite things, go visit Melissa to see the whole list!
P.S. I included some Amazon links in here meaning I can make a percentage if you purchase the item you clicked on. Just want to be clear.
I am hoping Santa brings me a pair of Hunter boots! Love them!!
I am a Texan living in the UK and I LOVE Cath Kidston. 🙂
Love your list, like I knew I would. I need those boots…and I just saw PP for the first time a month ago and I’m pretty hooked. Also, I put a similar candle on my fave list, and people keep telling me to try your version…just as good but cheaper! I’m on the hunt!!!
Great list! Now I must have that throw.
I highly recommend Pitch Perfect!! It is SO stinking hilarious. I think even the guys will love it. My Hubs is really good about watching “chick flicks” with me anyway, but he really enjoyed Pitch Perfect. Just a warning to anyone – you will be quoting it for months! =]
I think I’m going to have to try the foundation. I’m on a hunt for makeup that will look decent on my “maturing” skin! Great list!
This paage truly has all of the info I needed concerning this subject and didn’t know who to ask.
In love with the brown boots! You are the third person I’ve met that is in love with fresh balsam, I’ve got to get me one! And now I want to take a nap with that throw.
Sign me up for the winter balsam. I think I can smell it now. enjoyed reading your favorites. You never cease to surprise me. You have wonderful taste. love Mom.
