Well hello! Guess I should probably take a break from “real life” and check in over here! We’ve been busy with projects and behind the scenes work, but I thought I’d show off the front porch while we finish things up. We’re in Michigan, so I can’t guarantee how long it’ll be before the s*%^ word comes along. That’s snow, by the way.
I kept it rather simple with some mums, pumpkins, and cornstalks. If it were up to my kids, I’d have ghosts and zombies hanging all over. Unfortunately, I can’t bring myself to do it. Apparently, I’m more of a “cornstalks” girl.
I found the wheat wreath at Homegoods (of course) back in September! That stuff goes fast, so I knew I needed to pick it up right away. Glad I did! I spent the whole afternoon cutting back shrubs and removing all my summer plants. It’s sad ’cause I know that’s when “that weather” is truly upon us. It’s not a bad thing necessarily–just a different thing.
Anyone else preparing for winter? It’s a process, right?
We just had our “fall yard cleanup” completed, and the weather is definitely upon us. I’m holding off on turning on the heat for as long as I can! Your front porch is lovely, and I’m with you – give me mums and cornstalks over zombies and graveyards any day! Don’t you love yellow mums? They’re my fave this year”
Yes the ‘s’ word will be upon us Utahs as well… At least it’s more of a clean-fun for the kiddos, right?! 🙂
I just brought in all my flower pots and deck furniture yesterday. It makes me sad, but I’m in Illinois and the s-word is maybe going to happen this week. I have a sunroom so I can have plants inside and that helps me.
Beautiful!! Can I ask where you got the big pot of yellow mums? Love them 🙂
I’m a Michigan girl as well, and I can’t say I’m exactly ready for that S word either, and I hear it may be coming as early as this week. YIKES! Anyway, I love your fall front porch. The mums are beautiful!
Lovely! Yellow mums were your dad’s favorites. You got some nice big yellow mums there. I got my pumpkins and gords out front yesterday. Can you believe it snowed for about 2 minutes today. Tammy and I could hardly believe it. But, it is Michigan. What ever anyone says, I love our Michigan seasons alot….
