An Interruption

January 28, 2014 by Chris

I’m not gonna lie. This is a horrible post to write. I’ve been a little MIA recently, and I’m afraid it will be that way for a little while. To cut to the chase, I’ve had some medical problems come up, and I need a moment to get healthy. A surgery is scheduled for Thursday, and a six-week recovery will follow. And no–I will not be laying in a field of flowers that whole time.

Field of flowers

I’m pretty private about my personal life, so I’m already revealing more than I’m comfortable with. However, you deserve an explanation. Please know that my absence isn’t wanted, but most certainly needed. If you believe in prayer, I’d love some! If you don’t, how ’bout some positive thoughts?

Positive thoughts

I’ll be checking in sporadically, but this blog o’ mine is gonna have to take a back seat for a moment. And believe me–that’s a tough call to make when you love it as much as I do. The good news? This guy has threatened to blog for me if I don’t feel up to it. I may have to feign illness just for that. He’s a funny one!

Us out

I will miss you, and I hope you’ll stay with me! See you soon!

I’m going out on a limb and guessing you might be having the big “H”. If so, take the pain meds, rest, rest, rest and more rest! Regardless of what it is, know there are tons of prayers being said for you and the good Lord is always right there with you! Heal quickly, quietly and completely.

Oh no! I can’t imagine leaving my blog. I know you’ll miss it, and we will definitely miss you. Of course I will stay, silly. I am praying for a quick recovery and I hope all is well after this.

Rest up! And you can feel free to put that funny guy up to the challenge. I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading his posts and our responses to them when you can. 😉

Thoughts and prayers are with you-before, during and after. I made it to 51 without any surgeries-then had 2 in 2 years! While I understand you’re wanting to keep things private I do hope that you will reach out to those closest to you and draw from their experience, strength an hope. I found it comforting to know what helped others who had gone through similar experiences/surgeries-and it helped ease a lot of fears–and made recovery smoother, too. Be gentle with yourself-and allow plenty of time to heal. Blessings, Sharon
