    Great find! I love thrifting!

I bought a Ethan Allen dining table, W/2 leaves from a local furniture consignment store for $200, retail would have been $1500+. It needed some refinishing, but nothing I couldn't tackle. It has proudly served in my DR for 7 years & I constantly get positive comments on it. My fav purchase!

It helps to have something in mind. My sisters decided on a specific type of furniture or decor, and then spend months at yard sales and thrift shops until they find it. They say the hunt is half the fun!

Your post inspired me to make a trip to SA yesterday afternoon – luckily it was a super rainy day here in the Boston area, so the store was dead. I found tons of great little things, plus five Disney books and a Sesame Street DVD for my little ones, and walk out having spent $17.

My favorite find was a candle holder similar to this Pottery Barn one: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/multi-votive-display/?pkey=ccandleholders
But mine cost $2.99 and I actually like it better than the PB one!

I love it! Thanks for the inspiration to go.
