Well, Nester strikes again at my house. I’ve had these miserable curtains in my master bathroom for years. I kept telling myself, “No one sees them. It doesn’t matter.” Well, it matters.
I purchased this material several weeks ago. It was 50% off of 50% off. Apparently, that does not mean free. It does, however, mean really cheap. The issue was the now what do I do with it? syndrome.
Lucky for me, I fell in love with this rug (that was not as cheap, mind you) to put in my master bathroom. Edited to add: I found the runner at Kohls. I knew I could somehow tie the fabric in to match the rug, but I didn’t know how—still. Long story
not so short, Nester posted about her mistreatments again the other day, and I knew I just needed to dive in head first. Or upholstery tacks first, as the case may be.
I literally just draped the fabric high above my windows, nailed some upholstery tacks in the wall, and straight pinned the pleats. Yup. Straight pins. Call me crazy. Oh yeah…I hot glued the fringe on. While I stood in the tub.
I’ve decided the exposed tacks bug me, so I bought some “make your own fabric buttons” to place there. Another day. This mistreater was done.
I’ll admit. I was intimidated. However, I’ll also admit I’m SO doing this again!! I’ve got a million little holes in my bathroom right now, but I also spent about $20.00 on some pretty nice looking “roman shades”.
I’ll be back later to show you the whole bathroom. I was losing light, and my kids were whining about wanting dinner or something trivial like that.
