Summer Tour of Homes

by Chris on June 4, 2013

Hello there! I love myself a good home tour (who doesn’t?), so I’m happy to be participating in Gina’s annual Summer House Tour. If you’re new and coming from Jen (aka nicest girl EVER), welcome! If you’re not new here, “Oh hey.” Just kidding! I’m gonna keep it small on words and big on pictures! I hope you enjoy the tour!

just a girl house tour

I wasn’t kidding about the “small on words” part, was I? Sometimes ya just gotta let the pictures do the talking. Know this much–nothing is ever done around here. Master bedroom? Getting an overhaul. Guest room? Nearly finished. Key word: Nearly. Stuff’s always happening around here, so feel free to come back for another visit!

Can you tell me more about the drapes in your daughter’s room? I am in the midst of creating a big girl room for our foster daughter, and I am using those exact colors! I’m having trouble finding curtains in the right color, and all the fabric I find in this color seems to be quilting weight rather than home decor fabric. Thanks!

Gorgeous pictures. I especially like the reclaimed wood wall in the boys bedroom!

Roeshel June 4, 2013 at 9:08 am

Wow, Chris! Your home is stunning. I love the reclaimed wood plank wall, the prettiest girl’s room I ever saw and your gorgeous living room. Beautiful job!

I love your home! I don’t remember EVER seeing your kitchen before. Every room has a wonderful sense of being lived in – a cozy, warm feeling that oozes style without pretentiousness. It’s like we were sisters in another life… :).

I just lurve your home, Chris, just my style. Quick question – where do you store your books? Like me, you’re an English teacher, so I know you got ‘em. :)

Ashley @ the handmade home June 6, 2013 at 10:40 am

Danielle June 17, 2013 at 2:21 pm

I love your home!

Very curious what your kitchen wall color is. Also, did you paint your cabinets yourself? They’re gorgeous!

Chris August 7, 2013 at 8:19 pm

That color eludes me to this day. I wish I could tell you. If I ever come across it, I’ll let you know. And I didn’t paint the cabinets (yet). :) They are semi-custom Kraftmaid if that helps! :) Thank you!!!

Angela June 19, 2013 at 10:04 am
