Show and Share Day

by Chris on September 2, 2011

This week was my last week of summer. (Insert moment of silence here.) Since my last week involved 6 dentist appointments, 2 hair appointments, 2 orientations, a vet appointment, and school shopping, it was far from relaxing!

This is where anxiety starts to set in. How am I possibly going to uphold this blog, work full-time, and be a mom? Oh yeah…and I should probably worry about cleaning this house.

So, I will spend the weekend doing laundry, grocery shopping, and trying to get a jumpstart on some projects. Orrrrrr just trying to finish up old ones. Like this…

And this…

I guess you could always add to my “to do” list by linking up and distracting me from my work. Just a thought. Show off your projects!

Kelli September 2, 2011 at 1:38 pm

My to do list is getting so long lately! And the kiddos being back in school hasn’t help me much either…just added more projects to the list:) Good luck juggling it all and have a great weekend!

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:49 pm

I don’t know what it feels like to be home while the kids are gone, but I do know it’ll be a busy year! I’m sure it’ll all get figured out. It always does! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Christa @ BrownSugarToast September 2, 2011 at 1:47 pm

Thanks for the party!!! hope your to-do list gets done despite all the awesome linky projects :)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:50 pm

Me too, Christa! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Erin @ How to Nest for Less September 2, 2011 at 1:59 pm

Ha! I’m the same way. Full time job, a mommy of a very active 3 year old and trying to blog for fun on the side! Good luck with this weekend and hope you enjoy your last few moments of summer :)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Thanks so much, Erin! I’m trying to! Have a great weekend!

cassie September 2, 2011 at 2:06 pm

good luck! you will manage to get it all done…. but don’t feel bad if you don’t because it will make the rest of us feel better. ;) and i had my own moment of silence followed by a happy dance as i sent my son back to school last week!

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Now that was funny. :) Don’t worry–I probably won’t get it all done!

Jo-Anna September 2, 2011 at 2:40 pm

Oh I know the feeling! I am absolutely spinning right now with all the stuff to be done now that we are back to school! I don’t even want to look at my house right now!!

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:47 pm

I just did dishes, and as I was doing them, I thought, “I’m just gonna have to do these again in a couple of hours!” It’s never-ending! :)

Maya @ Completely Coastal September 2, 2011 at 3:01 pm

I honestly have no idea how you guys do it!! I don’t have a job to go to, nor am I a mom…., and still at times that same thought and feeling of “how am I going to uphold my blog” kicks in.

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Ugh…I know, Maya. It’s difficult because it’s so overwhelming yet so fun at the same time! I guess we find the balance when we enjoy something enough, eh? :)

Amanda @ Serenity Now September 2, 2011 at 3:04 pm

Hi, Chris! I’m trying to catch my breath before the girls start school too. It’s a lot to get together, isn’t it? This is my first time linking up to your party. Thanks for hosting. :)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:45 pm

I haven’t checked any links yet! I’m excited to see what you shared! Have a great school year!

HouseTalkN September 2, 2011 at 3:14 pm

In “real life”, I am a teacher. I started my blog this summer and had a blast! Now that I am back to work, squeeeeezing in blog time is tricky!
Thank you for this great par-taaay to kick off my weekend!

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:44 pm

True, Kerry! I’ve been doing this for several years, and it’s STILL a struggle. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Your readers will wait for you. ;)

Veronica September 2, 2011 at 3:21 pm

You are definitely a busy woman! Best of luck with everything!

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:44 pm

Thank you, Veronica!

Thank you so much for hosting. Wishing you the best of luck for a smooth and stress-free back-to-school and work transition!

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:42 pm

Thanks so much, Jenn! I really appreciate that.

Tatum September 2, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Keep your head up lady! I know it can be rough. I don’t even have kids and sometimes I feel like I’m drowning, so I can imagine what you must be going through. Here’s to a relaxing weekend :-)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:41 pm

Thank you, Tatum. (great name, by the way) Things will slow down soon enough!

Margo September 2, 2011 at 5:24 pm

SIX dental appointments, oh my! I think you did well to just survive, some weeks are just that–surviving. I really enjoy your blog. Just try and pace yourself and remember to breathe.

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:35 pm

Amen, Margo. Well said! Thank you!

Erin @ Two Story Cottage September 2, 2011 at 5:33 pm

Good luck this school year! I taught middle school and even though I’ve been out of the classroom for a few years I still get back to school butterflies. Sometimes it is nice to just get started so you can get the first few days under your belt. I swear the week leading up to back to school is the hardest! Hope you get a great group of kids.

Oh, and thanks for hosting. :)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:35 pm

Yes! I totally agree. These first few weeks are the WORST and then things find their groove. Thanks for your encouragement!

Kassi @ Truly Lovely September 2, 2011 at 6:25 pm

Thanks for hosting! ESPECIALLY since it sounds like you’re spread pretty thin! You’ll get back into a routine and all will get better! :)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:41 pm

Well said, Kassi. I sure hope so! I HAVE to host it. It’s the only normalcy I know right now! :)

kim@todayismysome-day September 2, 2011 at 6:46 pm

Thanks for hosting another show and share. Hope thing slow down a bit for you. Enjoy the weekend.

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:40 pm

Thank you, Kim! They will…someday. :)

Madigan at madiganmade September 2, 2011 at 8:37 pm

Here’s hoping your to-do list gets shorter and the routine of going back to school gives you and your family some regular rhythm to your schedule. You’lll get to everything… eventually, right?
Thanks for hosting, dear!

Paula September 3, 2011 at 6:46 am

I am a teacher and I completely understand all of your back to school anxieties. School is all consuming and it is difficult to accomplish anything once it goes back in session. We’ve been back for four weeks (three with kids) and I am exhausted! A three day weekend is just what I need. I hope you have a great school year!

Catherine September 5, 2011 at 12:53 am

Boy do I ever hear you! I am back at school this week, too. Spent the last week at the dentist getting the son’s retainer switched over…shopping…crafting like crazy…attending PD meetings…

No essays to mark, yet, though.

If you figure out the magic solution to time management or manage to figure out cloning, please, please let me know! Hope your first semester goes well.
