Haven Hangover

by Chris on June 24, 2012

What a whirlwind. I don’t have much to give you right now, because I took all of three pictures over the course of four days. It’s quite a shock going from an attendee to an organizer. Pictures definitely suffer. :(

Haven Swag Bags

We stuffed, loaded, carried, hung, ran, sweated, and laughed our tails off.

Haven Preparation

Blue balls {giggle} were a part of the decorations, and I never made it back to my camera to get the final product. Shame on me.

Haven Decor

While I try to gather some Haven pictures to share with you, I can’t go another moment without saying I believe Haven 2012 was an absolute success! It was truly one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been a part of, and I hope all the attendees loved it as much as we did! Thank you for taking a chance on us!

I’m hoping I can now get back into the swing of things. That means I’m adding a popular oldie but goodie over here again. I miss highlighting some of the fantastic talent in blogland, and I’m hoping you’ll want to be a part of it. Every Friday, I’ll be featuring someone to share with readers.

Just a Girl Feature Friday

While I do my best to find the features myself, don’t shy away from sending me a picture(s) of something you’d like featured! I’ll be honest—a quality photo that is high resolution works best. We’re visual people after all! Any features can be sent to jagirl44@gmail.com Subject line: Feature

I’ll be back soon!

Haven was a big success in my opinion! I enjoyed your session on painting and staining and picked up some good tips. And I am still putting away those wonderful products in those swag bags! Thanks for all your hard work to make this event such a huge success.

Kelly @ View Along the Way June 24, 2012 at 10:33 pm

It was a huge HUGE success! Y’all did such an amazing job. Your session with Kate was one of my favorites! I may have already started staining something this morning. :)

My head is still spinnin’ and I can’t wait till next years Haven!! You girls did an awesome job and I enjoyed every second. I only wish I could have sat down and had a good ole’ chat with you and the girls. So good to say we have now met. Try to enjoy your summer now and have fun!

Chris June 25, 2012 at 11:16 pm

Oh, Susie. I was telling the girls that it was one of my disappointments. I feel like I waited SO long to finally meet you, and I didn’t get to really visit. I’m thankful for our hug and our brief convo. We WILL meet again, and we’ll catch up for sure!

Blue balls…I’m still giggling. Seriously, I can’t stop. I have a bad case of Anderson Cooper giggling like a school girl…tears are running down my face :D

I love it, Elaine! I have the maturity of a 12-year old boy, so I can totally relate to the Anderson Cooper giggle! Glad I could help. :)

It was hands-down a huge success and I’m sending you a virtual high-5 right now!! Thank you (all) so much for all the hardwork you put into it. Loved it all and cannot wait to go back next year!

And I am soo giggling over the blue balls comment! I live by a town name Blue Balls… which is right by Intercourse… which is right by Paradise… (and totally not joking!)

You Must Be Joking! Has David Letterman heard about this? Where in the world is all this going on? Made my day!

Natalie @ A Turtle's Life for Me June 26, 2012 at 2:11 pm

Well, maybe I can make your Tuesday too because we also have a town called Bird-In-Hand! http://www.squidoo.com/pennsylvania-town-names

Chris June 25, 2012 at 11:14 pm

Seriously? You totally win for “town with easiest inappropriate jokes”! I would love that! :)

Natalie @ A Turtle's Life for Me June 26, 2012 at 2:12 pm

Oh the t-shirts that people come up with! And those are towns that are mostly filled with Amish too! There’s another PA town called Climax! Yeppers, not moving anywhere that I have to tell people I’m from Climax!!

I can’t wait to hear your take on the conference…I love all the re-caps today! Yay for Feature Friday’s too!

Shaunna June 25, 2012 at 5:27 pm

Friend, you have NO idea how sad I was to not hang out with you. Like how can we all meet up before next year? Oh, you all can’t accommodate me?? Just think about it. :-)
xoxo,
shaunna

Oh my gosh. The biggest disappointment for me of all time. I knew I must have been talking about it a lot when Doug said, “Wow…it must have really bothered you that she was sick–you keep bringing it up.” He doesn’t get it. I have deep love for you, and I was heartbroken. What’s more important is that you are better!! I’m so so sorry you were sick. I felt so bad for you. ALMOST as bad as I felt for myself for not getting to hang out with you. :) Soon, my love….soon.

Barbara June 25, 2012 at 9:08 pm

Thanks so much for all that went into Haven! Yes, it was a success! I’m new to your blog and am viewing it on my trusty iPad. I learned at Haven, not to activate the Mobile version, because of how cruddy the post looks! You have about 40,000 subscribers, but I hope you’re going to consider this new pearl I learned at the now famous Haven, 2012!
Best to you,
Barbara

Barbara - The Treasured Home June 25, 2012 at 9:16 pm

Oh jeez, I just saw how to turn OFF the iPad version! Sorry about the 17 comments here. All better!

Chris June 25, 2012 at 11:13 pm

I was JUST replying to tell you to simply turn it off–glad you found it!

Chelsea @ two twenty one June 25, 2012 at 9:40 pm

Haven was amazing! I really enjoyed your Decor 101 session. One of the first things I did when I got home was mention the board and batten idea (for our great room with vaulted ceilings) to my husband again. I’m going to keep working on him. He’ll wear down eventually. Thanks for all your hard work on Haven!

Chris June 25, 2012 at 11:12 pm

I like the way you think, Chelsea! He’ll wear down–they always do. :) I’m so glad you loved it, and I can’t wait to visit with you more in the future!

Brittany aka Pretty Handy Girl June 27, 2012 at 9:27 pm

Y’all seriously did have the best sponsors! I even mentioned it in my recap post! Thank you for all you and the other Haven girls did to make this conference happen. It was fantastic!
