Mantle Fallification-ism-ty. {Fall Mantel}

by Chris on November 10, 2010

*~*Scroll down for the Geezees canvas winner!*~*

Soooo it started with this wreath (thanks for all your encouragement, by the way).  Whatever I did to the mantle was just gonna have to work around this bad boy.

 fall wreath

I shopped the house for most everything. I snatched these cone trees up at Hobby Lobby a few years ago, and I’ve loved them ever since. They’re the perfect sparkle and color for this spot.glitter cone trees

I basically shopped the house for the other items. It’s amazing how fun it can be to move things around and feel like they’re new. It also helps that I stick to a general color scheme throughout my home. It sure makes it easier to shop it!

I knew I wanted some extra pops of orange this year, so the only things I purchased were the two glass pieces below. One was .99 and the other was $1.99. Big spender, I know.

Orange sticks in the candle below. $4.99 at Meijer three years ago. Another lucky find, I guess!

I definitely wanted something a little more streamlined since Halloween had a lot going on! It’s festive, yet calming for me. Can’t go wrong with that! Of course, after all that work, my husband’s response about the mantle was, “Yeah. Nice. I like how cheap it was.” Of course you do, dear.

Congratulations to the winner of the Geezees canvas!

I love the things from Hobby Lobby! Love them. Pretty pretty:)

Richella November 10, 2010 at 2:22 am

You have such a way with words. Like fallification-ism-ty. That sums it up!

Your new mantelscape looks really pretty! Your Halloween mantel was great, but this is just beautiful–festive, but calm and soothing. Just right for November. I really like the pops of orange–they look great mixed in with your neutrals!

Rhyah November 10, 2010 at 2:28 am

Love the new mantle-scape! I dream of having one of my own to decorate one day! That's going to take a bit of construction though, since we need to remodel the entire room first…for now, I'll live vicariously through you if that's ok. :)

Oh, how I love this wreath. Just think, for Christmas you could do a little bit of fake snow on the edges. It's so beautiful.

The wreath turned out great and I love all the pops of orange (my favorite color). One suggestion – would your candle fit into the orange glass dish?

BEAUTIFUL, gosh this is awesome enough to leave up YEAR ROUND. It is extremely calming, and a pleasure to look at. The orange is just the right color. You gave such an awesome tutorial on that pinecone wreath, and my 11 year old would have probably said the same thind, lol. So cute.

I host a weekly party **Amaze me August**, and a Christmas one **6 weeks 2 JINGLE**, I would be soooo HAPPY if you would share some of your awesome projects on there.

I am new to your blog, and very happily following you now. So, I'll be back. :)

Thanks a ton.

Bella :)

Lovely!! Man those colors are awesome. There so easy to live with even year round. I don't remember seeing those Hobby Lobby trees. Love the splase of glitz it gives. I swear, I have got to go to Salvation army more often. Can't believe how nice your glass pieces are. Geesh…99 and 1.99. I have got to shop there. Very lovely Chris.

Will see it close up in less than 2 wks. Mom

The cones are so pretty. Simple, yet festive. And I love that your mom comments on your posts. Too sweet.

Amy @ the Happy Tulip September 26, 2011 at 10:00 pm

I’ve seen your wreath before and still can’t get over how gorgeous it is! The sparkly trees are a perfect complement to it too.

Valerie September 26, 2011 at 10:09 pm

This has to be the best fall mantel I have seen! Clean, striking, happy. Your wreath is simple and has lovely rich, saturated color, and I love that you “shopped” your house for the rest. That’s what i do every year. I thought about getting my mantel photo-ready for Fall, but if I do, it’ll be as close to a copy of yours as I can get.
Cheers!
