Family room? Living room? What’s the difference? It’s a room that my family lives in. So there’s that.
After painting the room recently and buying a new rug, I let those colors dictate the decor. Luckily, I’ve held onto all my Christmas decorations since 1873, so it didn’t cost me much. #hoarderperks
Since I always like my tree to look a little wild, I stuck some twigs in there to match all the little birds I have. Me likey the birds.
I looked everywhere for some inexpensive fur to bring some creamy texture to the tree. Yeah, that didn’t go so well. The next best option? Cut up an old, furry throw blanket. The kids had a moment of freakazoid as they looked on, but they could not break me! It looks great, and no one has any idea what weird lengths I’ll go to to get the look I want.
This is our view as we watch Elf for the 36th time this season. Pretty amazing at night with the tree twinkling.
The gold stocking letters are from Target, and I’d say they fit pretty perfectly.
Today is our first day of Christmas break, so you can imagine me sitting in this room for the next 17 days. No complaints here!
